No, I Won't Go To Bed Tonight is one of the most engaging books that our 3 years old son has read until now, and we are book loving family.The book is structured in a way that parents offer various activities to their son Roger to convince him to sleep and he.. refuses them one but one, of course. There is something engaging in the way Joy Manne writes that called our son for immediate response. After only the first paragraph he understood that 'the game' is not to go to bed so every time my husband read 'Shall we ride in a train tonight? ...shall I rock you to sleep... fly the plane... steer the spaceship... our son would say or shout 'No... no... no...' He listens to the end and treats the book as a joyful game that we play. Every single time! Now I am just wondering when he will act it out in real life and refuse to sleep... tonight :) You know how it is with books for children, some you like but your children don't, some your children like and you can hardly look at them.
