About the Author:
Passionné par le Grand Nord depuis l'adolescence, Nicolas Vanier commence ses expéditions dès les années 80 , notamment lapéninsule du Nouveau-Québec-Labrador, qu'il traverse avec des traîneaux à chiens. En 1990, il entreprend la traversée de la Sibérie, partant de Mongolie pour rejoindre l'océan Arctique, pour une expédition de 7 000 kilomètres. Après avoir participé à la course de traineau Yukon Quest, réputé la plus difficile du monde, il effectue en 1999l'Odyssée blanche, un voyage de 8 600 kilomètres. En 2002 et 2003, il participe à plusieurs course en traîneau à chiens, dont à nouveau la Yukon Quest. En 2009, sort son film Loup.Auteur de plusieurs ouvrages, réalisateur de nombreux documentaires, courts et long métrages, notamment L'enfant des neiges (1995), l'Odyssée blanche (1999), Le dernier trappeur (2004).
