Fran�oise Sagan, de son vrai nom Fran�oise Quoirez, est n�e � Cajarc, dans le Lot. Sa carri�re de femme de Lettres commence en 1954 avec la publication de Bonjour tristesse. Ce roman, en abordant explicitement la sexualit� f�minine avec un style d�sinvolte et mordant, provoque un v�ritable scandale. R�compens� la m�me ann�e par le prix des Critiques, il devient l'embl�me de toute la g�n�ration d'apr�s-guerre et propulse son auteur au devant de la sc�ne litt�raire. Son œuvre compte aujourd'hui une trentaine de romans parmi lesquels on peut citer Aimez-vous Brahms..., publi� en 1959 et port� � l'�cran en 1963 par Anatole Litvak, Les merveilleux nuages (1973), Un orage immobile (1983), Les faux-fuyants (1991) ou encore Le miroir �gar� (1996). Nouvelliste et auteur de th��tre, Fran�oise Sagan a �crit une dizaine de pi�ces et une biographie de Sarah Bernhardt publi�e en 1987. Ce grand personnage de la sc�ne culturelle fran�aise a �galement �crit le sc�nario du Landru de Claude Chabrol.Passionn�e de sport automobile, l'auteur de Bonjour Tristesse a r�sid� de nombreuses ann�es � Honfleur. En 1985, elle a re�u pour l'ensemble de son œuvre, le dix-neuvi�me prix de la Fondation du prince Pierre de Monaco. Fran�oise Sagan s'est �teinte le 24 septembre 2004 � l'�ge de 69 ans.
