The story of the young peasant girl who led an army to help crown a king and was burned at the stake for her efforts, the play incorporates Joan of Arc's own words from letters, chronicles and testimony at her trial to create the living story of a fearless teen who was bound by her oath to God. Movement and sound come together, flowing like a live-action montage that switches genres and settings in a flash, resulting in a dynamic and exhilarating play based on historical fact. 60-80 minutes. 2-6+ males, 3-10+ females (6-16 performers possible). Ideal for high schools, youth theaters, colleges and community theaters.

From the Author:
JOAN is a play written for 6 actors playing a multitude of roles but it can also be presented using a larger cast. It is a physical theatre play with minimal set and technical elements. Lights, sound and mostly the actors themselves create multiple locations and environments. The director and cast have the opportunity to work on a true ensemble piece because the actors use their bodies, voices and emotions to engage the audience in a modern retelling of the story of Joan of Arc. About 70 minutes running time, it is a great piece for High Schools, Universities and youth theatre companies and has been presented in the US and UK in a variety of venues. It was voted best production of the year by the Scranton Times in 2000 and went on to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  It has also been produced by Caxton Youth Theatre, Regis College, Coffeeville Community College, TNT Theatre, the 14th Street Y, and Fortis Academy.
From the Inside Flap:
JOAN is an amazing, brilliant show where every element has come together in perfect alignment.  The story avoids epic overkill and goes straight to the heart of the human behind the myth. - The Stage, UK
