Review:
We all long to be the hero in a story, but most of us don't believe it's possible - and our brokenness, weakness, & failure tell us why. But Duncan Robinson flips the script on traditional heroism and exposes the liberating truth that what seemingly guaranteed our place among the outcasts and forgotten are actually the primary catalysts to humility and surrender, the starting line of unlikely heroism. Story; is the most powerful medium of communication today and Duncan Robinson does not disappoint. Through descriptively honestly accounts from his own journey, refreshing perspectives from heroes of old, and surprisingly inspiring stories from some of the most unlikely of sources, you will feel yourself begin to dream unlikely dreams of surrender and humility revealing your true place in the company of other unlikely heroes. Besides, Duncan heroically references Yoda and Chewbacca, you know it's going to be a great read! --LV Hanson, Director of Catalyst Connect
If you are satisfied with simply going through the motions in your walk with God, this is not the book for you. However, if you want to walk the road from ordinary to extraordinary this is your guide on how to get there. Written with crystal clarity, heartfelt passion, and brutal honesty, Unlikely Hero will help you to become a hero for our great God. --Ken Moser, Assistant Professor of Youth Ministry Briercrest College and Seminary
It's tempting to look at Biblical characters and attribute spiritual qualities to them - to 'clean them up' to fit the way we think of how God used them. The reality is that most of them were COMMON people who were deeply flawed and despite their failures - an UNCOMMON God used them in ways that made a huge impact! Duncan Insightfully and Creatively helps you understand how the COMMON 'old you' can become an UNLIKELY HERO when touched by an UNCOMMON God! Well worth the read! --Josh Barrett, Lead Pastor Church of Celebration
