Under the maddening influence of the dreams, combined with a timely reading of Kerouac's On the Road, John begins keeping a dream notebook, writing poetry and developing his own brand of mysticism. Inspired by a pair offbeat companions who decide to set out wandering the country and 'possibly ending up picking cherries for an uncle in Montana in time for the harvest,' John and a cast of several other quirky cronies, including his rebellious younger brother Thomas, embark upon their own series of trips, both externally and inward, spanning the country and culminating in the virile streets of Times Square a month prior to the deadly attacks of September Eleventh in search of what only they could find.

About the Author:
Sean McLaughlin was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his B.A. in English, consecutive honorable mention awards for the university's Fall Creative Writing Contest, and his initial teaching licensure from Cleveland State University. He began his career as an educator working with underprivileged middle school students in the city of Cleveland. In 2005 he enlisted in the Navy, graduated boot-camp the 4th of July weekend, and set out to sea on board the Theodore Roosevelt air-craft carrier his first official day on active duty serving as a yeoman for Fighter Squadron 213, the Fighting Blacklions, on the Final Tomcat Cruise. His second novel, Tradewinds, a confessional, comic romance centered around a dysfunctional love triangle, is to be broadly based on his travels and experiences in the Navy during wartime. He currently resides in a suburb outside of Washington, DC, where he works as a technical writer who is contracted with the US Department of Homeland Security.
