About the Author:

Edie McGinnis, Kansas City Star Quilts author and editor, began her career with The Star newspaper in 1987. She recently retired after nearly 21 years with the company. Edie continues to work on a part-time basis as a consultant, editor and author for Kansas City Star Quilts. She contributes as a columnist on its website, PickleDish.com. She has had several single patterns published and has authored more than a dozen books.

Edie lectures on The Kansas City Star historic quilt patterns, their history and the designers who worked at The Star in the early years. She has added lectures and trunk shows on Feedsacks and using pre-cuts as well. She teaches workshops using her own original patterns. She has been quilting for more than 30 years and is a member of the American Quilting Society and The Quilter's Guild of Greater Kansas City.
