Billie Jean Young is a playwright and the author of several books including _Now How You Do_, a collection of her mother's letters providing a glimpse into the lives of rural Alabama Blackbelt women. She is currently an artist-in-residence at her alma mater, Judson College, in Marion, Alabama.
