Based on his fashion illustrations for prestigious stores such as New York's Bonwit Teller and Bullocks, Jim Howard has transformed the styles of top designers into paper doll clothes for three glamorous models. Three eras of fashion are represented -- the late 50s, late 70s and 1980s with colorful, beautifully designed pages featuring fashions by Bill Blass, Galanos, Norell, Bonnie Cashin, Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, Louis Dell Olio for Anne Klein and others.
It is a privilege for Paper Studio Press to re-introduce the talents of Jim Howard to the world, and we look forward to seeing more paper doll creations from this top artist.

Jim s list of clients reads like a Who's Who of fashion retailers: Neiman Marcus, Bonwit Teller, B. Altman, Marshall Field's, Garfinkel's, I. Magnin, Dillards, Bon Marche, Bullocks and others. It was when he was hired by Bonwit Teller in 1976 that his now-famous, dramatically lighted style really locked-in.
After leaving the illustration world, Jim moved to Santa Fe where he painted and showed in a few galleries. Next, it was on to Albuquerque where he became active in the theatrical scene, acting as well as designing sets and costumes and from there, to his present home in Denver.
Jim Howard's work, fine art and commercial illustrations, has garnered many awards and been exhibited in museums and galleries from New York to Chicago, from Texas to Taos. And now collectors can enjoy his ever-growing offering of paper doll books including Bette Davis, Dorothy Lamour, Shirley Jones, Ida Lupino, Gene Fashion Doll, Four Famous Dandies and his COUTURE fashion series.
