About the Author:
Isadore Rosenfeld, M.D. is widely recognized as one of this country's preeminent doctors. His regular appearances on network television (his show House Calls all airs every Sunday morning on Fox News Network) and his nine best-selling books (as well as a textbook for doctors) have garnered him the reputation of America s Doctor. He remains one of the leading and most effective proponents of the medical enlightenment of the American public. Dr. Rosenfeld who is an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and the Rossi Distinguished Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and maintains a private practice in New York City. He was president of the New York County Medical Society and a member of The Practicing Physicians Advisory Council for two Secretaries of Health and Human Services, and was appointed by President George W. Bush as a consultant to the White House Conference on Aging. Dr. Rosenfeld has also served as a consultant to the National Institute of Health on such task forces as arteriosclerosis, sudden death, and hypertension. Among his many honors, Dr. Rosenfeld was named the United Nations Citizen of the World in November of 1999 and was the recipient of the first Award for Achievement in Cardiovascular Medicine and Science by the New York affiliate of the American Heart Association. More recently, he was honored at a gala of the American Heart Association on June 26, 2008. He is an overseer of Weill Cornell Medical College and a member of the National Board of Advisors of the University of California at Davis.
