About the Author:

Cherie Clodfelter, PhD and Professor Emerita, earned her doctorate in early childhood education and language development and her master of arts degree in reading/science from Texas Woman's University, and her bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University. She taught for almost four decades in the University of Dallas Education Department and served 33 years as its chairwoman. She retired from the University of Dallas in June 2007. When asked, "What do you make?" Clodfelter responds, "I make a difference."
