About the Author:

Henri Ghéon was a French playwright, critic, and poet. He was educated in Sens, but he moved to Paris to study medicine in 1893, when he began writing poetry. In 1909, he became a founding member of and a regular contributor to the French literary magazine Nouvelle Revue Française (NRF), The New French Review. While serving as a doctor in the army during the First World War, Ghéon returned to his Catholic faith and thereafter devoted much of his writing to the lives of the saints. His vivid descriptions of the saints and the times and places in which they lived bring these holy people to life for today s readers and inspire devotion to them and a desire to imitate their example.
