Each of my books must justify the labor and heart I put into it. I wrote this book for one clear reason:  In 2006, just before the movie version of Way of the Peaceful Warrior was released, I had a sense that many people might misunderstand the movies messages, just as many who have written to me needed further clarity about some of the lessons in the book.

So the idea came to me to take every major teaching point in my first book, and shed new light and clarity -- from my more mature perspective twenty-five years later. I'm extremely pleased and grateful that my publisher also saw the value in such a book.

In my view,  only those who have read Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior can grasp the full and correct lessons and wisdom transmitted by the man I called Socrates, in my first book. So this book is an essential companion to the first volume.
