About the Author:
Stuart Reid is an award-winning Scottish children's author, who is rapidly growing in stature, thanks to the overwhelming popularity of his Gorgeous George series. His success began when his first book, Gorgeous George & The Giant Geriatric Generator, picked up the Forward National Literature Award 2012 for Middle Grade Fiction. Then in early 2013 the followup, Gorgeous George & The ZigZag Zit-Faced Zombies, was released to incredible acclaim from both reviewers and, even more importantly, kids. "Exciting, entertaining and inspiring! A star in the making." - Primary Times Magazine Stuart's rise in popularity can be explained by his hilarious, rude and exciting books, but it is also because of his hugely successful school shows. Since he first started performing at schools back in 2012, Stuart has entertained over 100,000 children, teachers and parents up and down the UK. In 2013 Stuart performed a month of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since then he's been visiting two schools a day, making him one of the Britain's busiest authors. Stuart's uniquely entertaining shows are wild, wacky, crude, rude and hilariously fun for everyone involved. There are plenty of bogies, farts and false teeth flying! And because he talks to little people a lot, he has developed the 'Ninja Signing Stance', in order to come down to their eye level. "Absolutely Brilliant!" Wigtown Book Festival In between these sessions, Stuart still finds time to keep writing more Gorgeous George tales. In September he released Unidentified Unsinkable Underpants Part 1, with Part 2 out in March 2014. Later in the year he will release the sixth title in the series, The Power Pink Poo Pump! If this wasn't already enough, he will also be releasing six exclusive ebook short stories, one every other month. Stuart is also working on a number of other titles, including The Snotasaurus, which he's created alongside Calvin Innes. This weird and silly long-awaited book will be released in August 2014. Forward National Literature Award Winner 2012 Stuart is also a member of the Society of Authors and The Scottish Book Trust. He's now using his influence and profile to promote literature to children across the country: something which he is deeply passionate about. He has now been married for nearly twenty years and has two children, a Superman outfit, spiky hair and refuses to wear trousers.
