The 6th edition of The Hidden Places of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Lincolnshire although the second largest county in England remains relatively unknown, a rural county and has some of the richest farmland in the country producing potatoes, sugar beet and flowers. Lincolnshire has strong historical connections with Holland and Scandinavia and is blessed with many picturesque villages and towns such as the majestic county capital, Lincoln, historic Stamford proclaimed as "the finest stone town in England" and Grantham the birthplace of Margaret Thatcher. It also explores the extensive coastline, which was the haunt of smugglers in the 17th and 18th centuries and is home for a number of traditional seaside resorts.

The county of Nottinghamshire is blessed with similar qualities, based in the north midlands; it lays mainly on the low ground basin of the River Trent between the peaks of Derbyshire and south Yorkshire and the lowlands of Lincolnshire. Nottinghamshire is famous for its industrial past but has also retained much of its rural heritage as well as the remains of the famous Forest of Sherwood. The guide is packed with information and coloured photographs on the more secluded and little known venues for food, accommodation and places of interest as well as the more enduring attractions of the region. The previous edition received excellent reviews – "a treasure-trove of "little gems", which attract attention and interest whilst providing essential information on where to stay. Different and definitely worth reading." – Lincolnshire Independent Newspapers
