Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st printing of the first U.S. hardcover edition boldly SIGNED in marker by the late Bobby Hull (1939 - 2023) and by his former teammate Ulf Nilsson on the half-title page, opposite a label for the Ice Hockey in Harlem organization. Both Hull and Nilsson played for the New York Rangers and, presumably, signed this copy at an event staged by Ice Hockey in Harlem in NYC. Hull and Nilsson were two-thirds of The Hot Line with Anders Hedberg, when they won two Avco Cups playing for the Winnipeg Jets of the World Hockey Association. No inscription or markings by a previous owner. A 280-page coffee table book in full black leather, and an official publication of the NHL, it contains 168 color and 90 B&W photos and illustrations and includes lengthy chapters on Cup history by hockey writers such as Milt Dunnell, Stan Fischler, Roy MacGregor and George Gross, including The Beginning, 1893-1910; The Professional Leagues, 1910-1926; The NHL Takes the Cup, 1927-1942; The Golden Age Begins, 1943-1955; The Flying Frenchmen, 1956-1967; The Great Expansion, 1968-1979 and The Time of the Great One, 1980-1992. CONDITION: The bottom corner of the front board is bruised, the top corner is rubbed, and the spine ends have softened. The jacket is bright and price intact. The spine is sunned, and the crown of the jacket's spine has softened and shows wrinkles and a short tear. Surface wear to the back panel and horizontal creases to the top and bottom edges of both panels. Supplied in an acid-free mylar sleeve.
