About the Author:

Born in Savannah, Georgia, and currently living in New York City, poet, author, and playwright Perry Brass has published 19 books, including poetry, novels, short fiction, science fiction, plays, and advice books including the Amazon bestseller The Manly Art of Seduction.

He has been a finalist six times for Lambda Literary Awards, has won five IPPY Awards from the Independent Publishers Group, and was a finalist for a prestigious Ferro-Grumley Fiction Award from New York s Ferro-Grumley Foundation for his beautiful Southern coming of age novel King of Angels. Active in the movement toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights since 1969, Brass s work deals with issues of sexual freedom, spirituality and personal politics coming out of his involvement with the politics and culture of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He has written about and anticipated in his work much of the progressive change we see today throughout the world around gay marriage, economic justice, gender equality, reproductive freedom, men s health issues, and transgender rights. In 1972, with two friends he started the Gay Men s Health Project Clinic, the first clinic specifically for gay men on the East Coast in America. It actively advocated for the use of condoms a decade before the AIDS crisis. This clinic still operates as the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. He also writes regularly for the Huffington Post.
