Review:
Robert Edward's Transparencies is a very impressive book. The poems are full of passion, violence, dark moons, silence, edgy reconciliations, anger, and hope. They are well-crafted poems and honest and bold as a prairie thunderstorm. The author has my complete respect and admiration. -----Dave Etter, author of Alliance, Illinois
This is the work of a man who has lost something---a poet at home among orphans and alleys, broken doors and bruises, empty beds and ghosts. What beauty exists, sneaks in between shadows, and hope when it happens means simply the will to survive. Robert Edwards is a poet with the courage to tell it to us straight, to speak the hard truth, to stare down the steady darkness. -----Sheila O'Connor, author of Where No Gods Came
