Although he eventually left professional baseball altogether in 1996, Morris continues his major league experience to use as a motivational speaker and consultant to prominent collegiate baseball teams around the country. In 1994, he returned to Seton Hall to complete his degree in political science.
In addition, John and his wife Linda are successful independent distributors for Nikken, a leading health care provider from Japan. Born in North Bellmore, New York, Morris now resides in Gulfport, Florida. "Bullet Bob" Comes to Louisville is his first book.
