About the Author:
John Morris began his professional baseball career in 1982, as a first-round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals after his junior year at Seton Hall University. He spent 12 years as an outfielder with the Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, and California Angels. In 1987, he was a member of the National League pennant-winning Cardinals. Following years of debilitating back injuries, Morris retired from active play in 1993 to become an instructor, coach, and manager in the Angels' minor league system.

Although he eventually left professional baseball altogether in 1996, Morris continues his major league experience to use as a motivational speaker and consultant to prominent collegiate baseball teams around the country. In 1994, he returned to Seton Hall to complete his degree in political science.

In addition, John and his wife Linda are successful independent distributors for Nikken, a leading health care provider from Japan. Born in North Bellmore, New York, Morris now resides in Gulfport, Florida. "Bullet Bob" Comes to Louisville is his first book.

Review:
"...A refreshing account of the existence of a modern ballplayer. It gets past today's headlines about record-setting contracts and big- and small-market teams to examine the career of a blue-collar player who loved the game he was paid to play." -- Bill Chastain, Baseball America

"...as a writer, Morris is a keen observer with a quick wit, facile memory and ability to recount compelling stories. Both Hall-of-Famers and fringe players are subjects in this collection of funny, sensitive anecdotes." -- David Plaut, USA Today Baseball Weekly

"Morris' book is a collection of 22 fascinating stories that provide valuable lessons in the game of baseball and the game of life." -- Willie McGee
