About the Author:

Dale Coyner's journeys through the Appalachians began out of a curiosity of what was "around the next bend." He came to riding later than some, purchasing his first motorcycle, a Yamaha Radian, after he finished college. He credits the open, freewheeling nature of motorcycling with firing a sense of wonderment about his surroundings that led to rediscovering his native region. He shares his best finds with you in Motorcycle Journeys through the Appalachians.

For many of the tours in this book, Dale relied on his trusty Gold Wing. He's not sure if it was the size of the Wing, the pop-up camper he was pulling, or the bright red Aerostich suit that garnered the most friendly smiles in his travels, but he got a lot of them. His current ride is a Honda ST-1100.

Dale's work in multimedia for an international consulting firm takes him on journeys of another type--the Internet. You can often find him zipping around the world in cyberspace, where he is experimenting with new forms of discovering and sharing information.
