Gary is a contributing editor for the Journal of Court Reporting and captioning columnist for Newswaves for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing People, and has written numerous articles on the conjunction of captioning, court reporting and computers on subjects ranging from captioning for city governments to speech recognition.
In 1987, he founded Cheetah Systems with his wife, Kathy. He has been the principal designer for all of Cheetah's captioning, CAT and legal software, as well as the Gemini ergonomic stenotype machine. He is currently the Chief Technology Strategist for VITAC Corporation, the largest closed captioning company in the United States.
