About the Author:

Accustomed to the black soil and flat land of Illinois, Vicki Cox moved to the Ozark Plateau in 1978. As her children napped, she sat cross-legged on the floor between their rooms composing articles for area publications. Two decades later, her distinctive features have appeared from California to Massachusetts, Minnesota to Alabama. She is a seven-time Missouri Writers Guild winner for her magazine column, humorous essays, magazine, newspaper, and Ozark stories. Her focus remains the unique places and faces of the Ozarks.
