Act One, a festival of plays presented by Showtime Networks, received 20 Drama-Logue Awards for its 1994 Festival of One Act Plays - an unprecendented number of awards given to one production. These plays were selected from 2,000 submissions after a nationwide search. Many of the plays received their world premiere at this festival.

Marisa Smith is the Owner and Publisher of Smith and Kraus, a leading publisher of theater books since 1990.
