River of Fear, Encounters, is a story about courage, the first book in a trilogy that is a paranormal thriller. The story opens in Maine's rural Northwest Mountains and is blended with some true to life stories that are surrounded by mystery and action. The intrigue quickly unfolds within the first couple of pages as one of the main characters takes an early morning walk with his dog down a snowmobile trail. He sees something that is totally unexplainable, and the tranquility that he loves so much in the Maine woods quickly flows to unnerving.

About the Author:
Rod Davis grew up, and spent most of his adult life in Southwestern Connecticut. In 1973, he moved to Cape Elizabeth, Maine with his wife and two children. They spent six years in Cape Elizabeth, and during that time he became very familiar with a region of Maine known as the Rangeley Lakes area, and eventually bought a vacation home there.

Rod and his wife Elaine have experienced several unexplainable phenomena during their time together, and he had an impassioned desire to develop a story around each of them. He and his wife have a deep love of the Rangeley Lakes area, and having spent a considerable amount of time in Stratton and the surrounding Townships, he developed a deep respect for the people that live there.

He is currently working on his second book of the trilogy, River of Fear, Pursuit.

He and his wife now reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.
