About the Author:

Mark Silberstein has been slogging in Elkhorn Slough since the late 1960s. After receiving his master's degree from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, Mark initiated the Elkhorn Slough volunteer program in 1983 for the Nature Conservancy. As program director of the National Estuarine Research Reserve from 1984 to 1989, he established research, education, and interpretive programs at the slough. Mark is currently the director of the Elkhorn Slough Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research, education and conservation in and around the slough.

Eileen Campbell is a writer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. In addition to working on this book series, she writes and develops new exhibits.
