About the Author:
Judy West has taught English in many parts of the world and has published several books of language instruction. Have You Got My Purr? is her first picture book. Judy lives in London with her husband and two children. In her spare time she enjoys travel, music, painting and singing. Award-winning illustrator Tim Warnes shares a studio at his home near Dorchester in the Dorset countryside with his wife, illustrator Jane Chapman. Tim is best known for illustrating the Little Tiger books, which gave Little Tiger Press not only its name, but its first ever logo too!

Kitten is sure she has lost her purr. She informs her mother, who tells Kitten not to worry and that in time the lost will be found. But Kitten doesn't want to wait to find her purr; she's sure some other farm animal took it, and she's determined to get it back. Questioning first Dog, then Cow, Pig, Duck, Mouse, Sheep, and Owl, she discovers they have their own sounds--all different--woofs and oinks, quacks and squeaks and hoots. By the time she gets to Owl, it's quite dark, and Kitten is tired and discouraged. Owl suggests she go home to her mother, and sure enough, when Kitten curls up with Mom, her purr motor starts. The gentle story, with bright, textured paintings, is both reassuring and satisfying. Toddlers will relish the barnyard tour and join in making the different animal sounds. Shelley Townsend-Hudson
