Al & Al's spectacular computer-generated videos radically re-appropriate contemporary pop culture through an inventive use of celebrity icons, live action performance and animation special effects. The exhibition features a new, large-scale commission developed through the artists' residency at the historically charged Edge Hill railway station, which will be shown alongside two existing works originally made for television. Al & Al is the first book to contextualise, the psycho-sexual and social consequences of technology explored in their work, and position their radical practice within a critical and art historical context.

About the Author:

Al and Al built their own blue screen special effects studio after graduating from Saint Martin Art School in 2001. They have received numerous awards for their work from such organizations as the Arts Council England, Channel 4, Film London, Acme, and the Center of Attention Arts.
