About the Author:
Carel van Mander (1548–1606) was a Dutch painter and poet. Giulio Mancini(1558–1630) was an Italian physician, art collector, and writer. Giovanni Balgione (1566–1643) was an Italian baroque painter and an art historian. Joachim von Sandrart (1606–1688) was a German art historian and painter. Charles Le Brun (1619–1690) was a French painter and art theorist.
