About the Author:

Victoria Charles received her PhD in art history. She has published extensively on art history and contributed to Art Information, an international guide to contemporary art. She is also a regular contributor to journals and magazines. Klaus H. Carl is the author of numerous works on the history of great cities, and is also a well-known photographer of flora and fauna. A teacher by profession, he is currently devoting himself to a monumental History of Art. Albert Jacquemart was a writer and art historian who specialized in French ceramic art. He published his well-known book, Histoire de la céramique. Émile Bayard served as an Inspector for the French Ministry of Fine Art. He wrote many books about the various styles throughout art history.
