About the Author:
Bill Easum has a thirty-year track record of growing congregations in two denominations. His last church, which he re-started and pastored for twenty-four years, grew to be one of the largest United Methodist Churches in South Texas. Since 1987 Bill has devoted his time to consulting, coaching, and speaker. Bill is the Founder and President of The Effective Church Group. The years have been good to Bill. He's had the privilege of helping over 700 churches grow around the world, authored twenty-one books, received the prestigious Donald McGavran award for outstanding church leadership, and had a wife who was strong enough to hold him accountable. These days Bill spends his time coaching leaders because helping churches grow is still his life's passion. Bill is a graduate of Baylor University, B.A., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, M.D., and Perkins School of Theology, S.T.M. Bill is a widower and has one daughter, Caran. Ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he has served as both a church planter and a church transformational change agent in churches literally from coast to coast. He is a regular contributor to Net Results magazine, adjunct professor for Pastoral Leadership and for Evangelism at Phillips Seminary, and the managing partner of The Effective Church Group. This is the tenth book Bill has had a hand in. His other books include Big Mouse: The Fine Art of Herding Cats; Prayer for People Who Can’t Sit Still; Hitchhikers’ Guide to Evangelism; High-Voltage Spirituality; and Effective Staffing for Vital Churches. Bill is a popular speaker and workshop presenter and has been leading workshops at the Exponential East Conference for several years on discipleship and church growth. Bill holds a BTh from Florida Baptist College with a specialization in New Testament and Church Planting; an MDiv from Candler School of Theology, Emory University with a specialization in Old Testament Studies; and a DMin in Church Multiplication Movements from Northwest Graduate School in Seattle.
