Review:
We see how dangerous the world situation is in terms of potential violence: war, even nuclear war; terrorism; the loss of respect for human life from its conception to natural death. At the same time, how many people have abandoned any faith in God. Our Lady said to the three shepherd children, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta: "Many souls are lost from God because there is no one to pray and offer sacrifices for their conversion." We must all respond to Our Lady's request if there is to be world peace.
In order for us to do this, we must know the message of Our Lady clearly, so that we can respond wholeheartedly to it. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI put it this way: "To be an 'apostle' of Our Lady: LEARN the message of Fatima, LIVE the message of Fatima, and SPREAD the message of Fatima." This book is a wonderful source of information for those who know little about Fatima as well as a renewal of inspiration for those who already know much.
As reflected in the book's title, Donna-Marie used stories. There are stories of the effect the Fatima message has had on people's lives, plus fascinating stories of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta (whom Donna-Marie knew so well) and other Church figures. Donna-Marie presents the history o all the apparitions of the Angel of Peace (1916). of Our Blessed Lady at the Cova (1917), and the apparitions later on at Ponte Vedra, Spain (1925), where Our Lady requested the Five First Saturdays devotion and at Tuy, Spain (929), where she requested that the pope along with the bishops of the world consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart. These will give you much to ponder of Our Lady's requests and how to fulfill them. --FR. ANDREW APOSTOLI, C.F.R., author, Fatima for Today
