I wrote The Name Quest because, after preaching a series of messages about the names of God to my church, I realized that most books about God's names focus on information. Few go very far in explaining how much His names are about relationship with Him and faith.God reveals His names so that we get to know Him better. As we get to know Him, our faith grows and we become more like Him in spiritual maturity. The Bible is packed with names for God and there are life-building lessons to glean from them.Some people asked why I did not write The Name Quest in more than one volume to make it shorter and easier. But God is a personality and whenever we break Him into pieces or try to simplify Him we are in danger of creating a God of our own making. Let's get to Know Him as He is described in the Bible. No book will ever substitute for a living relationship with God, but I hope The Name Quest will help many people in their relationships with Him.
