About the Author:

CAT COHEN is a lifelong international gourmet cook who has traveled through 48 of our 50 states and many countries as well, sampling the native cuisines and picking up cooking tips. When he visited New Orleans, he once was Paul Prudhome's assistant in a live cooking show there. Cat has shopped in so many ethnic LA markets he could easily qualify for a Guinness Book of Records nomination. His interest in foreign cuisine dates back to childhood when his mom encouraged him to cook for the family because he was more skilled at preparing dishes than her. She also encouraged his appetite for cuisines from new countries by checking out foreign cookbooks from the local library. Today, with Google at his side, Cat has traveled the globe in his real and virtual search for unusual and tasty recipes. He combines this with a passion for healing and the innate power of chicken soup to cure ailments while bringing comfort and evoking pleasant memories. Cat is a longtime ASCAP/NARAS songwriter, musical theater composer, teacher, journalist and massage therapist with songs recorded by Cheryll Lynn, Syreeta, Freddie Hubbard and Bo Diddley. He co-wrote a jazz instrumental featured in the HBO movie THE RAT PACK and a funk tune for the Univeral featre film UNDERCOVER BROTHER. He was commissioned by OPERA PACIFIC to write a children's operetta THE NOT SO GREAT ESCAPE which was performed in schools throughtout the Southern California area.
