It looks like heavy going, but Kuiper’s informal text (Think about it) will encourage many older YAs to read on. The open design invites browsing, with lots of photos, subheads, and detailed, screened biographies about Robert Frost, Langston Hughes, and T. S. Eliot back to Sappho and dozens more. Some of the coverage is quite technical, as in Prosody: Terms and Concepts, but the analysis is accessible, and the wonderful quotes make the case for reading with an open mind and a little quiet, whether the reader confronts the words, ancient, modern, and in-between, on a page or a computer screen.
