About the Author:
Terence M. Shumaker is Faculty Emeritus, the former Chairperson of the Drafting Technology Department, and former Director of the Autodesk Premier Training Center at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. Terence taught at the community college level for over 28 years. He has
professional experience in surveying, civil drafting, industrial piping, and technical illustration. He is the author of Goodheart-Willcox's Process Pipe Drafting and coauthor of the AutoCAD and Its Applications series and AutoCAD Essentials.

David A. Madsen is the president of Madsen Designs Inc. and an Authorized Autodesk Author. David is Faculty Emeritus of Drafting Technology and the Autodesk Premier Training Center at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. David was an instructor and department Chairperson at Clackamas
Community College for nearly 30 years. In addition to community college experience, David was a Drafting Technology instructor at Centennial High School in Gresham, Oregon. David is a former member of the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) Board of Directors, and was honored by the ADDA
with Director Emeritus status at the annual conference in 2005. David has extensive experience in mechanical drafting, architectural design and drafting, and building construction. David holds a Master of Education degree in Vocational Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial
Education. David is the author of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and coauthor of Architectural AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop and its Applications, Architectural Drafting Using AutoCAD, AutoCAD and Its Applications: Basics, Advanced, and Comprehensive, AutoCAD Essentials, and other textbooks
in the areas of architectural drafting, mechanical drafting, engineering drafting, civil drafting, architectural print reading, and mechanical printing reading.

Jeffrey A. Laurich has been an instructor in Mechanical Design Technology at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI, since 1991. He has also taught business and industry professionals in the Autodesk Premier Training Center at FVTC. Jeff teaches drafting, AutoCAD, Design of Tooling, GDandT,
and 3ds Max. He created a certificate program at FVTC entitled Computer Rendering and Animation that integrates the 3D capabilities of AutoCAD and 3ds Max. Jeff has professional experience in furniture design, surveying, and cartography and holds a degree in Natural Resources Technology. In his
consulting business, Jeff uses 3ds Max to create renderings and animations for manufacturers and architects.

J.C. Malitzke is the former department chair of Computer Integrated Technologies at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL. J.C. was a professor of Mechanical Design and Drafting/CAD and taught for the Authorized Autodesk Training Center at Moraine Valley. J.C. has been teaching for
over 30 years and actively using and teaching Autodesk products for nearly 25 years. He is a founding member and past chair of the Autodesk Training Center Executive Committee and the Autodesk Advisory Board. J.C. has been the coauthor and principal investigator on two National Science Foundation
grants. He has won numerous awards, including: Educator of the Year by the Illinois Drafting Educators Association; the Instructor Quality Award by Autodesk; Autodesk University Instructor Award; Professor of the Year, Co-Innovator of the Year, and Co-Master Teacher awards at Moraine Valley
Community College; and the Illinois Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year awarded by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. J.C. was also one of the recipients of the Top 10 Most Popular Autodesk University Classes Ever for his class Compelling 3D Features in AutoCAD.J.C. holds a
Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University.

Craig P. Black is an instructor in the Mechanical Design Technology department and the former manager of the Autodesk Premier Training Center at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI. He has been teaching at Fox Valley Technical College since 1990. In 2009, Craig created the CAD Management
certificate program at FVTC. Craig has served two terms on the Autodesk Training Center Executive Committee (now known as the Autodesk Advisory Board) and chaired the committee in 2001. He has been working with Autodesk software products for more than 25 years. He has presented on various topics at
a number of Autodesk University annual training sessions and has been contracted to teach training sessions on Autodesk products across the United States. In addition to teaching, Craig also does AutoCAD customization and AutoLISP and DCL programming for area businesses and industries. Prior to his
current position, Craig worked in the civil, architectural, electrical, and mechanical drafting and design disciplines.

Adam M. Ferris is the Director of Digital Technology at Wilson Architects in Boston, MA. Wilson Architects is a medium-size architecture firm specializing in the science and technology field. Adam is currently working on and defining new procedures on BIM efficiency and delivery methods with his
clients. Adam is an award-winning Autodesk Certified Instructor with over 17 years of experience on training Autodesk products in the Boston area. He has trained over 4000 students in New England. Prior to joining Wilson Architects, Adam owned an Autodesk products/CAD consulting firm aiding
businesses in efficient AutoCAD configurations and management, network management, and 3D visualization with Autodesk 3ds Max. Adam attends Autodesk University annually and has lectured there several times.
