About the Author:

Stefan Petrucha has written X-Files comics and for Disney comics. He is the author of a few YA series: "Timetripper" (Razorbill), "Frankenstein" (DK Books), "Wicked Dead" with Thomas Pendleton (Harper Collins) and the young adult fiction title, Teen Inc. (Walker Books for Young Readers). His latest hardcover, "The Rule of Won," was published in September 2008 to rave reviews.

Tinker Bell is only one of the many fairies and sparrow-men (male fairies) who live in Never Land, and this first volume of the Disney Fairies graphic-novel series includes four stories about the fairies of Pixie Hollow. In the first, new fairy Prilla wants to find out her special talent. Then, daredevil speedster fairy Vidia takes Prilla on a hair-raising adventure in which Prilla shows her mettle and intelligence. In the third story, Terrence can’t seem to find the right time to ask busy Tinker Bell to go to the Bluebell Festival with him. Finally, Tinker Bell puzzles over why her best friend, Rain, won’t talk to her. These stories, originally written and published in Italy, follow the Disney style of art and glow with beautiful color, and they tie in to the various animated films, games, and books featuring fairy characters. Although slight, the stories do deal with aspects of friendship and being comfortable with oneself, and they should find a willing audience among young Disney fans, especially girls.
