About the Author:
Karen Regen-Tuero’s stories have appeared in the North American Review, the Saint Ann’s Review, Kalliope, and other literary journals. A graduate of Duke University and the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence College, she lives in New York with her husband and two children and is currently finishing a novel.

Doug Crandell is the author of the memoir, Pig Boy’s Wicked Bird. His short stories and essays have appeared in the SUN, Smithsonian Magazine, Indiana Review, Nebraska Review, and Hawaii Review.

Mark Wisniewski’s novel Confessions of a Polish Used Car Salesman is in its second printing. He’s the author of All Weekend with the Lights On, a collection of short fiction. More than one hundred of his stories have appeared in magazines such as the Georgia Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, the Missouri Review, TriQuarterly, New England Review, Boulevard, and the Sun. He has won a Pushcart Prize, and his poems have appeared internationally.

Juan Martinez lives in Orlando and is a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida. He is now an instructor (of the adjunct variety) over there. His work is forthcoming in the Santa Monica Review and has appeared in the online incarnations of McSweeney’s, Pindeldyboz, and the Morning News.

Paul Michel grew up in Philadelphia and central Ohio. He has a BA from Kenyon College and an MFA from the Warren Wilson College Program for Writers. His work has appeared in Harpur Palate, Red Rock Review, the Rockhurst Review, Rosebud, Paperstreet, Short Story, and other literary journals. He has been the winner of the Frank O’Connor Short Story Contest and the John Gardner Memorial Prize for Fiction. He lives in Seattle.

Cristina Henríquez received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her stories have appeared in the New Yorker, TriQuarterly, AGNI, and Virginia Quarterly Review. She lives in Dallas. This story is part of her upcoming novel, Come Together, Fall Apart, to be published this year by Riverhead Books, a member of Penguin Group (USA), Inc.

Paula Nangle has published fiction in Michigan Quarterly Review, Blue Mesa Review, Crab Orchard Review, Weber Studies, Primavera, and others. She is a recent graduate of the MFA program at Western Michigan University and lives in Benton Harbor, Michigan with her husband and two children.

Matthew Sharpe is the award-winning author of the novels The Sleeping Father and Nothing Is Terrible, and a short-story collection, Stories from the Tube. He received a BA in English from Oberlin College and an MFA in fiction writing from Columbia University. He has taught poetry and fiction writing to students in the New York City public school system, and has also taught at Columbia University, New College of Florida, and Bard College. He is now Assistant Professor of English at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. He divides his time between New York and Connecticut.

Jonathan Wei was born in Michigan and grew up consecutively in Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, and New Hampshire. He lived in Portland, Oregon for fifteen years before moving to the New York City area for graduate school. He continues to move—most recently landing, one would think briefly, though perhaps not, in Iowa—for no reason better or worse than the comfort of a good friend’s proximity. He shares his life with his wife, poet Lee Peterson, and his dog, Jasper.

Mark Sanders is a Nebraska native, though his college-teaching career has led him to Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Idaho, where he currently teaches at Lewis-Clark State College. He has published poetry, fiction, and nonfiction in such journals as Prairie Schooner, Poetry East, Tar River Poetry, South Dakota Review, North Dakota Quarterly, and Solo, among numerous others.
