Proper training of the fundamentals is important in preparing young players for the game they wish to play. In a game as complex as soccer, with the many different techniques, strategies, and game-play options, this is even more crucial; especially for Junior High and Senior High school, upper level recreation leagues and off season camp instructors. Each book is full of technical and tactical exercises aimed at improving a specific aspect of play as well as detailed lesson plans which can be manipulated to fit any coach's specific situation. This books contains about 80 2-color diagrams to show the precise methods of training. In Soccer: Build up play, the focus is on the game play transition. In a typical transition, once a team recovers possession of the ball on the defensive end the team members begin the process of changing from a defensive to an offensive stance to get into position to score. In the Dutch soccer system, they are famous for their emphasis on the counter attack, and this book illustrates that well. This book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in mastering this skill.
