This children's picture book tells the story of how the most popular song in the world began as a little ditty, "Good Morning to All," to greet kindergarten students each day. Sisters Mildred and Patty Hill wrote the music and lyrics and later changed the words to the familiar "Happy Birthday to You."

"This story, engagingly told, shows children not only where a song they know and love comes from, but that art comes from people, and that they might make some, too."
-Anne Shelby, author of The Man Who Lived in a Hollow Tree
Before blowing out the birthday candles, friends and family often celebrate by serenading each other with the world's most beloved song. Now children can discover the true story behind the cheerful ditty in a book that steals the cake!
Through colorful and realistic illustrations, the history of the Hill sisters comes to life. Growing up in Kentucky, Mildred would play the piano while Patty composed songs. Once they became teachers, they began each day of class with the merry tune "Good Morning to All." After changing the words, they used the song to wish loved ones "Happy Birthday," and it soon became a party favorite.
