About the Author:

MICHAEL J. ROSEN is the author of Kids' Best Dog Book (Workman) and the editor of many books, including The Company of Dogs (Doubleday) and Dog People: Writers and Artists on Canine Companionship (Artisan). Since 1982, he has been the director of The Thurber House, and, in 1990, he founded The Company of Animals Fund, which enables people to afford the expenses of keeping companion animals. he lives near Columbus, Ohio.
