John L. Kitzmiller, MD, was professorof obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences anddirector of resident training at the University of California,San Francisco from 1982 until 1992. Since 1992, he has beenactive in the San Jose region developing a clinical practice andlater serving as an outpatient consultant in high-risk pregnancyat the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and NavidadasMedical Center. He currently chairs the ADA Writing Groupthat has prepared clinical guidelines in managing diabetesand pregnancy.
