About the Author:

Celebrity author Richard Grudens has written about the musicians and singers of the Big Band Era and beyond, including his recent book about Jerry Vale, "A singer's Life," and "Jukebox Saturday Night," "The Song Stars." The Music Men." and "Snootie Little Cutie," the life of Connie Haines who sang with Tommy Dorsey and with Frank Sinatra. Grudens is the foremost author of articles on both Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, including his major article about Bob's USO war travels in World War II Magazine in 1996. Grudens was influenced early on by Robert Anderson, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of "Tea and Sympathy," and Dashiell Hammett of "Maltese Falcon" and "Thin Man" fame. His stint at NBC New York included Guest Relations and newswriting. He has written over 100 magazine articles on subjects from Henry Ford to The Beach Boys have appeared in dozens of magazines and newsletters.
