K-Gr 3-These three books are easy to read, averaging two to three sentences per page in large typeface. Colorful photos appear on each double-page spread. Flowers, Fruits, and Seeds and How Plants Grow contain introductory information on pollination and the parts of a plant, with some overlap between the two. Strange Plants is the weakest of the titles; it provides brief descriptions of plants considered to be unique because of their environmental adaptations such as cactus, the Venus flytrap, and the pitcher plant. Mushrooms, toadstools, and mold have been included here, even though they are not plants. These volumes offer nothing new or especially appealing; they are serviceable additions for collections in need of easy nonfiction.-Katherine Borchert, Floris Elementary School, Herndon, VA
