Originally written as correspondence to his granddaughters abroad, I. T. These are Taylor's memories of hunting since he was eleven years old, of his faithful dog's first "strike" (which sent goosebumps down his neck), and of his recollection of pre-W. W. II America, a time that forged his formidable spirit. Taylor says that he was born and bred to hunt; that his parents were hunters; and that his father and mother hunted to provide meat for the table during the Depression.
