A love for books eventually led to a curiosity about writing, but it wasn't until she got her first computer and discovered a writing board on Prodigy that a true writing bug hit. "I was hooked. It was downhill from there,"; she says. Or rather, uphill. The next five years were spent learning the craft of writing. "I read everything I could get my hands on about writing. Attended dozens of workshops, attended conferences, tried a few critique groups, met and learned from other writers and published authors. I soaked up everythign I could."; And wrote. Lots and lots. Thousands upon thousands of words, not just in mystery but in romance and horror, too.
Eventually the idea for HOME IS WHERE THE MURDER IS, Carolyn's first mystery, was born. Many months and rewrites later, she sold it to Silver Dagger Mysteries. HOME will be available February of 2002. She is currently working on the second story in the series which involves, of all things in Texas, a moose.
Carolyn lives in Fort Worth with her husband of some fifteen years or so, their two children, two English Springer Spaniels and a leopard gecko. Visit her website at carolynrogers.homestead.com for more about Carolyn and her books.
