From School Library Journal:
Grade 3-7-A compilation of six volumes in the "Poetry for Young People" series (Sterling). The book offers excellent examples of poems by Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Edgar Allen Poe, Carl Sandburg, and Walt Whitman. It has plenty of good illustrations, fine introductions, and explanations of difficult words or phrases. Unfortunately, the books have all been reprinted, verbatim, without changing any of the introductory chapters. Thus, all of the page numbers cited refer to the original volumes rather than to this book. This causes repeated problems when the introductions refer to a poem on page 38, for example, and it actually appears on page 228. This new volume also suffers from an unattractive cover; the originals feature fine artwork. Stick with the individual titles.
