From Library Journal:
Father Miguel, on his way to his desert mission in Arizona after a six-month absence, rescues "Glint" McClain, a famous gunman and deserter from the Union Army, to help him tackle the problems facing him at his mission. His Indians have been enslaved by the rapacious Lathrop to work in the gold mine he has seized, and the people of Rileyville are fearful of anything that threatens their placidity. All fear Miguel, however, for supposedly he has been dead these last six months. How all this works out makes for a fast-paced, action-filled first novel written by an experienced screenwriter. Armen's style is marked by word pictures and brisk dialog. Priest or no, Miguel is a charming hero(?) villain(?).
