If you have not yet read Ender's Game you most definitely should: it is believed by some to be the best science fiction book ever written, and a strong contender for "Great Book" status. The context is perhaps typical of much science fiction--a battle between humans and space aliens--but the compelling storytelling, the deep insight into the minds of gifted children, and the profound understanding of the human condition makes Ender's Game a truly extraordinary work of very general interest. Very highly recommended.
