About the Author:
Charles L. Cadieux is former president of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. He is the author of eleven books, and more than a thousand magazine articles.
From Library Journal:
Cadieux's love for New Mexico comes through on every page of this comprehensive traveler's guide. He divides the state into six logical geographic regions: Hispanic highlands, northeast, northwest, lower Rio Grande, southeast, and southwest. Information is provided on history, "getting there," festivals and events, outdoor activities, where to stay and eat, and services. Also useful are lists of ten top attractions and ten important historical sites, along with a separate section on skiing. Perhaps the only thing lacking here is a chart for each locale listing average temperatures and weather records, as this could aid a visitor in trip planning. The writing is enthusiastic and verges on Chamber of Commerce boosterism, but the region has so much to offer that this slant can easily be ignored. Recommended.
